About the Founder and President

Siblings Helping Siblings Foundation, Inc. was founded by Maria Tejada, inspired by her personal journey raising three daughters, including a child with special needs. Her experiences as a mother gave her a deeper understanding of how a diagnosis can impact the entire family, especially siblings.

In 2024, Maria turned that vision into action by creating inclusive experiences for children and families. From the beginning, her husband, family, and close friends believed in her vision and supported each event with their time, love, and dedication. Their support helped bring the vision to life, and today, many of them continue to be an important part of SHSF.

Today, SHSF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting siblings, connecting families, and creating a more inclusive community where everyone can feel a sense of belonging.
